Stoning of women in Iran

This is video demonstrates what happens during a execution by stoning.  Stoning is practiced in Islamic culture in order to maintain fear and submission of the women. In the video, they wrap the victim in cloth dress, dig a hole and put the woman to be stoned into the hole with half her body above ground. Later, everyone throws mid sized stones at the victim till she is dead.

It is important that the stones be the right size, too small and not enough pain is inflicted and too large may actually kill the person before they are well tortured. Stoning is a punishment that is reserved for crimes of “morality” such as adultery. I assume these same people see no “moral” issue with killing.

For those doing the stoning, it is a social event that becomes more of a religious sport than a true act of moral self-righteousness.  The footage taken in Iran illustrates a party like atmosphere of those carrying out the execution. It is reminiscent of the family picnics at the old Wild West hangings or the popularity of people watching the slaughter of gladiators in early Rome.

Here as an example of a crime punishable by stoning: 2001-OCT: Nigeria: Safiya Hussaini Tungar-Tudu, a 30-year-old pregnant woman, had asked a Sharia court in Sokoto state to force a man that she alleged had raped her, to pay for her daughter’s naming ceremony. The court refused, and then charged her with engaging in sexual intercourse outside of marriage. She was sentenced to be stoned to death. The man that she allegedly had sex with was freed by the court for lack of evidence. She successfully appealed the conviction.

Here is another, I am a bit confused at the adultery charge since the woman was not married.

2000-FEB: United Arab Emirates: Kartini binti Karim, (a.k.a. Ms. Karteen Karikanderan), an unmarried citizen of Indonesia, was working as a housemaid in the United Arab Emirates when her pregnancy was detected. She and a man — a citizen of India — were charged with adultery. She was convicted; he fled the country before he could be arrested. She was placed on trial without a lawyer or a translator, “…alone and equipped with barely any word of the local language,” . She was not told that she had a right to communicate with her embassy. Her embassy was not informed in advance of the trial. Under the UAE’s form of Sharia, she was sentenced to death by stoning. The Indonesian government hired a lawyer and translator to appeal her case.

A public spectacle, the crowd comes out in masses to be witness and entertained by the suffering of a helpless victim. I guess even in modern times nothing pleases the sick masses more that a good public execution and blood.

This is an older video of an execution from the old Taliban rule. Here a woman is executed in public for the alleged murder of her husband.

The execution is sick to watch, not only because its an execution, but more so because of the public nature. This was made out to be a spectacle… they had commercials for this shit and it was held in a large stadium to accamodate the large group of people who came to see it… I wonder if they sold tickets to this shit.

It was a family event for sure… a wickedly rotten sick and twisted family event. These fools did take this as an event and brought the family, kids and all.

Witnesses said the convicted woman walked slowly, each step followed by a pause.

When she reached the center of the field she was ordered by one of the women to sit.

Behind her a young Taliban soldier, his head wrapped in the traditional turban, took aim with his Kalashnikov rifle. But suddenly Zarmeena stood up and tried to flee. A policewoman stopped her and forced her to sit, said witnesses.

The Taliban soldier moved closer and shot her three times.

Afterward from the crowd several people shouted “God is great.”

The stadium was packed with men and women, many of whom had brought their children.

One woman in a burqa, who did not give her name, but was running quickly toward the stadium seats pushing her small children ahead of her, said: “This is the first time a woman has been killed. I wanted to see.”

Radio Shariat on Monday announced that there would be a public execution.

The Taliban have imposed their harsh brand of Islamic law in the 90 percent of Afghanistan under their control. The Taliban say their version of Islam is a pure one that follows a literal interpretation of the Muslim holy book, The Koran.

We, in the US may not see being stoned as such a horrible thing, however in the Middle East, especially in Afganistan, Iran and other countries it is certain death.

So what makes for a crime punishable by death? well, most people believe that it is causing the death of another. But some societies are still stuck in the days of witch hunts.

Stoning to death is a cruel insane Islamic punishment given to people who are married but still voluntarily have sex outside marraige ( the cheater may not even always be guilty of the crime, since I doubt they have DNA evidence or any evidence of said crime other than one word against anothers). This punishment was ordered by the “merciful” Prophet, who ofcourse was the messenger of the “merciful” Allah.

Yes, this is the religion of peace. We see the peacefull solutions on CNN daily to the problems they may face.

Here is the stoning execution of four people, please be aware this is a very graphic and violent video clip of a bloody and barbariuc middle East Taliban style execution

In stoning to death, the victims’s hands are tied behind their backs and their bodies are put in a cloth sack. Then, this human “package” is buried in a hole, with only the victims heads showing above the ground. If its a woman, she is buried upto her shoulders. This is to give her an seemingly equal (but nonetheless impossible) chance to escape recognizing her lesser physical strength.
After the hapless individual has been secured in the hole, people start chanting “Allah hu Akbar” (meaning, God is great), and throw palm sized stones at the head of the victim from a certain distance (a circle is drawn).
The stones are thrown until the person dies or until he/she escapes out of the hole and crosses the circle. Escaping is impossible, given that the individual’s hands are tied behind their backs and they are buried in a hole upto their necks or shoulders (in the case of males and females respectively).
Naturally, the procedure is extremely barbaric and bloody.

You must wonder why the people are wrapped in a sack. Is that so that the individuals doing the stoning do not feel as bad. Does that remove the face and leave a blank for them to throw stones at. If the ladies faces are not covered, will they still celebrate?

So who here is commiting the crime? the criminal or the gang of executioners? hmm

This is another Video that talks about the Iranian Executions. This is an interview on Iranian TV. Mortazavi who is wanted by the Canadian government for torturing and murdering the Canadian Reporter Z. Kazemi is discussing the recent executions in Iran. An unknown number of civilians have been executed in June 2007. Typically, they are 1st tortured by imported Lebanese Shia militias, then turned over to Iranian guards at various prison sites.

So what was this ladies crime? did she kill someone? kidnap? stab her mother? rob the minimart (I hear you get shot for that one)? show her face… or god forbid her leg in public?  nope… she did the what comes naturally to most humans… sexuality… in her case… she was married, so they say.

The woman who got the execution of being hung from the crane in public… well she cheated on the hubby.Maybe he was abusive, maybe he just plain sucked in bed, or maybe he was just not the person she ever, ever wanted to be with in her life… but none of that matters now does it?

I still do wonder what happens to a man for the same thing? do they chop off his nuts or what?

I know that many countries are a bit behind the times and have not yet come to realize that people do not always get along… nor do they “stay in love”.. we all wish that we would… but as always shit happens!

hmm, let me get this straight now… rape a virgin… and said virgin goes to heaven… or does the rapist? hell, not really sure on that one..

But one thing I do remember is the story a bit back about a lady stoned to death for the same thing and the global opposition to it… not that it helped her in the end… I think.  Now come on people… move into the modern ages!
